Sun-soaked, tidy, with helpful staff and a lovely garden. Perfect for a work/holiday combo.
Oh, just a bit noisy, but who needs sleep anyway?

I really got my money's worth at the Art House Backpackers. The room was comfortable and had a stunning view of Hawkes Bay. The location was perfect, right across from the beach, and the staff treated me with kindness and helped me with my luggage.
Food for breakfast could have been better.

Loved working at Napier Art House Backpackers. The hostel job offer was a great opportunity to save money while enjoying the kiwifruit, apple, and grape picking. The accommodation was conveniently located in the city center and had amenities like a garden.
Just couldn't resist the urge to stay forever.

I recently stayed at Art House Backpackers in Napier for a week-long vacation. The location was perfect, right across from the beach and a short walk to the main shops. The hostel itself had a cosy and rustic feel, with a lovely outdoor dining area and homely atmosphere. The manager, Helen, was attentive and made sure my stay was comfortable. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms were clean, and there was a TV room and WiFi available. I particularly enjoyed the spectacular view of Hawkes Bay from my room. a great place to stay!

The location of the hostel is great, being close to the waterfront and within walking distance to the city center. the rooms are spacious and the staff is friendly and accommodating. the hostel also offers lockers, a well-equipped kitchen, and a comfortable TV room, making the stay convenient and comfortable.
The layout of the hostel is a bit confusing and it can be easy to get lost, especially when trying to find the bathroom.

The beachfront location was great! Being able to step outside and see the beautiful ocean was a major perk. Also, the hostel was near the town center, so it was easy to explore and find things to do. The fact that each bed had a power point and lamp was convenient for charging my devices and reading at night.
I had to wait for over an hour to check in because the manager was at a concert. I was tired, hungry, and my phone was dead, so it was frustrating.

I recently stayed at Art House Backpackers for a few nights during my solo trip. The hostel has a charming, rustic atmosphere and the dining area with its outdoor garden gave it a homely feel. Helen, the receptionist, was excellent and always available for emergencies. As a female solo traveler, I felt completely safe and didn't need any assistance. The location was great and the shared toilets were very clean. The manager, Helen, even made sure to keep a lower bed for me. The hostel had a lovely community vibe, with friendly people who work in local orchards. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends in the future. Thanks!
I would be happy to recommend this hotel.

The bed and blanket were so cozy and warm, a relief after freezing in other hostels! The location was absolutely stunning, with a breathtaking view of the ocean and blue skies from our room. Everything we needed was within easy walking distance - cafes, restaurants, shops, museums, art deco. The dining spaces were great and there were lockers available in the tv room. The hostel was clean and well-maintained, with friendly staff. Definitely a top choice for a fantastic getaway by the sea!

Loved the "unique" smell of stale cigarettes in my tiny, dingy room! And the old, dirty blankets were a nice touch. Definitely the most "appalling" backpackers I've ever experienced.
Can't believe they expected me to actually share a room with strangers. Outrageous!

We had a wonderful stay at Art House Backpackers. the check-in process was quick and efficient, and the staff member who assisted us was extremely friendly. She even helped us carry our suitcase up the stairs to our room. the hostel has lockers in the lounge room, a separate dining area with a large table, and a spacious kitchen. One of the highlights was the beautiful garden, which had three different seating areas. Our room on the top bunk had a comfortable bed and an amazing sea view.
Cons: No complaints whatsoever.

I recently stayed at Art House Backpackers for a short trip and it exceeded my expectations. The location was fantastic, right across from the beachfront promenade and close to the main shops. The hotel was small but cozy, with efficient daily cleaning and comfortable beds. There were also several cafes and a Thai restaurant nearby for dining options. The area was quiet at night, and I could even hear the waves from my front-facing room. a great stay.
With its prime location and comfortable amenities, I can confidently recommend this hotel.

The twin/double room was cozy and comfortable, with a carpeted floor and heating that kept me warm during my stay. I loved the shared bathroom, which had a shower and a hairdryer for convenience. The shared kitchen was a great bonus, allowing me to cook my own meals effortlessly. The ocean views from most rooms were absolutely breathtaking!
Personally, I wasn't a fan of the individually furnished guestrooms. But hey, I understand that some people might enjoy the unique charm and character it adds to their stay!
